- Is the adjustment of a specific character pair. Its purpose is to correct the irregularities caused by the shape of two letters.
Tracking
- A uniform way of effecting the spacing between all the characters no matter the type of font. Normally adjusts spacing problems caused by font size.
Leading
- The difference of spacing between the bottom of consecutive lines of type. The less space between the base lines the less legible the text is.
Optical Weighting
- Adjusting the thickness of a font according to the size. The smaller the font the thicker the lines, while the larger font had thinner, more elegant lines
